Oh man, this poor neglected blog. How uncomfy for you! Not to worry, I'm still dedicated to writing about all things comfy, I've just been getting some personal life to a more comfy position.
In honor of the season and my dear, dear mother who visited me yesterday, I would like to make this comfortable offering:
Spiced Apple Cider
What could be simpler? Wrapping your hands around a warm mug on a cold day, the spicy-sweet aroma that unequivocally communicates 'autumn'. It immediately brings to mind turning leaves, crisp-cold mornings and early dusk with a single sip.
When I was small my family had close friends that owned a farm. On that farm, they grew apples, and in their barn, they had an apple press. My memory is distinct: twisting a huge wheel, pushing down a giant lever (all proportionally large to my child hands), hearing the satisfying smoosh-crunch and seeing the beautiful auburn juice pour into a giant bucket, ready to be sipped.
Go buy yourself some delicious apple cider. I bet it'll be worthwhile. As a bonus? Nom some carmels while you're at it. Yum yum!
